Scott Baio is Having a Baby … Dum Dum Dum
I would be surprised if anyone other than my dorky self watched Scott Baio is 45 and Single. If you are the other person that not only watched the whole season but DVR’d it then you were probably also a little disappointed in the season finale. No catastrophe with Johnny at the party? No proposal? If a guy said “I am ready to marry you now” as a proposal I would hit him over the head. So Renee says she is pregnant and the show ends? I never thought that there would be another season to tie up loose ends but TV Fodder broke the news … it’s coming back for another season. Scott Baio is banking again (and I guess his dweeby friend Johnny is too)! Maybe Scott will drown Johnny in the melted ice sculpture when he appears over the fence with the flowers. I actually can’t wait to watch. Stop laughing at me.
Speaking of bad television. Is anyone watching Rock of Love? Is anyone else wondering why a bunch of twenty-something girls are interested in dating Bret Michaels? They aren’t going to get fame from the show that no one watches so I hope that isn’t why they are behaving so badly on TV.
Sam, Jess and Brandi seem the most real so far to me. They look like they could get a better guy than Bret anytime. So that is why I hope they lose. Girls go and find someone that doesn’t want you to dance on a pole for him. Anyone else have an opinion? Who do you want to win? Do you think Bret Michaels will really date the winner? Or is it all just for show?

Paula Has Another Meltdown
I hadn’t heard too much about Paula Abdul’s new reality TV show but I pretty much knew it was going to be a train wreck. But hey, sometimes train wrecks get ratings though - look at the Simple Life! Well Perez Hilton posted this YouTube clip from her show :). This chick is off her rocker! Does she not have a publicist warning her of starring in her own show? Sure is fun to watch though.

Real World Reunion- Bring Back the Old Favorites!
I’m not sure if anyone noticed that MTV has been playing a Reunion show for the Las Vegas Real World cast. If you’ve caught it you will notice that the cast looks a little different since 2002. Irulan’s hair is shorter, Arissa got even skinnier, and Trishelle got blonder. Aside from looks though, Brynn is the only one who has changed. She had two kids with Austin (her boyfriend toward the very end of the season). The rest of the cast is the same whoring, drunk, spotlight hogs they always were.
This reunion had me thinking about the old Real World — the show I used to watch religiously. You can see all of the seasons they have run here. In my opinion the last good cast was New Orleans. It all went downhill from there. MTV had the recipe for success so they stopped making it interesting and casted the same bunch of kids every year — the virgin, the slut, the drunk, the racist, the ethnic person, and the bitch. I suggest a real reunion with the cast members from season 1 through 9. That would be way more interesting. Here are some of my favorite memories from those times.
Season 1- New York
Julie, the naive young girl from the mid-west, argues in the streets of New York with Kevin, the black author. This was groundbreaking for television at the time.
Season 2 - Los Angeles
Of course my favorite episode is when David pulls off Tami’s towl and that cow, Beth, cries that it was like “rape” and he gets kicked off the show.
Season 3 - San Fransisco
Duh, Puck gets kicked off the show for being all around disgusting. There has never been a guy like Puck on the The Real World again — because there just isn’t one.
Season 4 - London
This was one of my favorite seasons. I loved when Neil got the end of his tongue bit off at his concert. Jacinda was by far the most successful Real Worlder in the entertainment industry. She has been in big budget movies such as Bridget Jones Diary; the Edge of Reason (as the lesbian interested in Renee Zellwiger).
Season 5- Miami
This was one of the most messed up group of people but they were so fun to watch. My favorite moment is when Mike is having a sex in the shower and Flora tries to climb through the window to watch.
Season 6 - Boston
After Montana cheats on her boyriend, Vaj, he texts her to say he is dumping her and she needs to get her things out of their apartment or he will throw her stuff in the street.
Season 7 - Seattle
When Irene leaves the show she taunts Steven by calling him gay. Steven runs after the car, opens the door, and slaps Irene in the face. Irene has since become very outspoken about how inaccurate and dangerous reality television is. But nobody cares.
Season 8 - Hawaii
I always was entertained by Amaya crying like a little girl when Colin ignored her. How much money should we bet that she is still single?
Season 9 - New Orleans
Any scene with Danny in it! He was so adorable.

Step Into My TV Time Machine
Recently my sister called me and left a frantic message on my voicemail. “You are never going to guess what I am watching! A marathon of Kate & Allie!”. Apparently WE has been playing marathons of the 80’s TV show this month (84′-89′). I was pretty excited because my sisters and I used to watch it every week. So the other day I caught an episode and lingered for a bit. In today’s TV standards this show is so ridiculous. It was pretty PG-funny but when you really think about it, two divorced moms with kids who all move in together, sounds more like a horror movie than a sitcom. There would be nothing cute about that. But in the 80’s we ate this crap up. Jane Curtin won two emmys for the show.
Anyway today I was on TV Tattle and saw this link for The Top 10 Unintentionally Funny TV Intros. This blogger found intros from some of my favorite childhood TV shows and wrote some commentary on how ridiculous they are. I guess I wasn’t the only one that loved them anyway. Check it out. You will definitely get a laugh out of it.
Here is some Kate & Allie trivia for those who are interested:
- Under pressure from higher-ups at CBS to quash even the slightest suggestion that Kate and Allie were lesbians, the producers were instructed to show Kate and Allie entering separate bedrooms to sleep at the end of each episode.
- When Susan Saint James became pregnant during the show’s second season, it was not written into the show because her character was single. She was filmed either with strategically placed props or by having her character Kate recovering from a broken leg. However, in a flashback episode that took place when Kate and Allie were younger and they were pregnant with their daughters on the show, St. James was allowed to show her pregnancy.
- Allison Smith was a veteran Broadway musical stage performer before she was cast in the series. One episode allowed her to sing by having her character audition for and be hired as the singer of the pop band. The song she sang was “Goodbye to You” by Scandal.

TV News Update: Marriages, Deaths, and Spoilers
I have a few TV news items that caught my attention today. Enjoy …
Scott Foley Got Married … Fans of Noel are Happy He Finds Love in the End
I have always been a huge fan of Scott Foley because Noel was always my favorite character on Felicity. Well, now Jennifer Gardner can eat her heart out because he has tied the knot with another attractive actress, Marika Dominczyk, 26. She was Justin’s former flame on Brothers & Sisters.
Heroes Spoilers For New Season
We all have been wondering what will happen to the Patrelli brothers when Heroes returns for it’s next season. Does Nathan let go of Peter when he flies him into the air and save himself? Or does he sacrifice himself along with his brother? Is that it for Milo on the show? I hope not. Well Kristin from E! Online says:
that she has “it on good authority that both Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) and Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) are back next season. I’m also 99 percent certain Greg Grunberg (Matt) is back, but not so sure about D.L. (Leonard Roberts). I have a sneaking suspicion Linderman’s blood or heart may heal him, but that could just be my wishful thinking, for I love Leonard so.”
I am going to hope that she knows what she is talking about here.
She also said “David Anders, the ridiculously talented actor who played the ridiculously awesome Mr. Sark on Alias, is in final talks with Heroes to play a new character named Kane for the upcoming second season.” We will see.
Sad news for Real World Fans
I heard it here first (before TVFodder even) that the cast member Frankie from Real World San Diego has passed away. Most people don’t remember that she spoke openly about having cystic fibrosis on the show.
“Her mother reports that people who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis usually have a hard time during the winter, due to the weak immune system, and this winter was especially bad for Frankie. But she feels that Frankie’s experience on the Real World had made her stronger and if it wasn’t for the show, Frankie would’ve gave up a long time ago.”
