Your So Vain … I Bet You Think This Post is About You

When I was a little girl I had a mini vanity. I loved it! Vanity tables always looked like a model’s must-have piece of furniture to me. Like these women couldn’t be as beautiful if they didn’t have a pretty table and mirror to primp in front of. I would love to have one again (for grown-ups that is)! I have never had the space in my bathroom to lay out my makeup and jewelery while I get ready. And I don’t have a chair! How great would it be to spend time and sit while you did your makeup? OK. Not necessary but it would be fun someday if I had room for it. Here are some pretty vanities to inspire your pretty self …

I’m also a big fan of vanity tables. I just wish I had room for one in my tiny apartment. Ahh, I’ll just have to dream of it until I get my own house.
Until then, I can drool over the chocolate brown vanity at West Elm.

Laurel - I love the West Elm vanity you linked to! Thanks for sharing it. — JF
I absolutely love vanities too! I have a really pretty vanity with 3-way mirror in my bedroom, and I really do feel ultra feminine and dainty when I sit at it and do my makeup. I attached a clip light to it, and use a vanity chair with sweetheart back. It’s super cute. I never had one as a little girl, so I think buying one as an adult was my way of living out this princess fairy-tale that so many of us girly girls had growing up.
Thanks for the comment on my site!
This is the vanity I have, from Fortunoff, except in a much lighter wood color: http://www.fortunoff.com/catalog/ensemble.jsp?prodNav=Search&ensembleId=70306 Vanities are so fun!
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! Just wanted to extend thanks to you on behalf of a coworker: While I’m not yet in a place to need to outfit a home, my coworker just bought a townhouse and LOVES shopping for cute furniture that fits her budget. I’m sure she’ll have so much use for this post which I forwarded to her.
i LOVE both vanities you’ve selected from IKEA. so modern and sleek.
great blog, btw!!
I love white furniture. I need to paint all of the pieces I have in my bedroom, instead of buying anything new. But what a project!!
