I have recently noticed the trend of stick-on wall art or wall tattoos on the Internet. They look like an easy way to update a room in a non-permanent way. Here are a few examples of what I have seen. Anyone tried these in their house?? I am wondering if the design looks painted or like a big sticker?
These examples are from a Surface Collective, a Canadian design firm. Prices range from $50 - 210. I think the giraffe or pocket full of posies designs would be a great way to decorate a child’s room non-permanently. They claim their wall art is a vinyl material that is a mere .3mm thick, so the finished look resembles a well done painted mural. They also claim that the decals are easy to remove for when you want to change your look on the fly. Apparently you can simply use your fingernails to pry away a corner of the decal but they suggest that using a blow dryer and a pair of tweezers, in order to facilitate the process.

These are some more cool wall tattoos from harmonie-interieure.com. Definitely check out the other categories they have.
Another similar trend is this window film, sold by the roll from Emma Jeffs (below left). I think this would be a great way to add a little privacy to any room while still allowing light to flow in. A roll sold here is $76 a roll. On the right is a wall decal from called Anise by Ilan Dei available at Blik.
Blik carries a bunch of wall decals from a variety of designers. Below clockwise from top left: Wee Gallery Undersea Re-Stik $38; Hare Hopping by Mel Lim $50; blik Chandelier only $30; Bambinis by Mel Lim only$24

I never thought to put a sticker on my wall. These are so much cooler than the ones I seen for guys that have a huge NASCAR driver or a Tiger Woods sticker. This is the site I am talking about that are hideous: http://www.fathead.com I would NEVER let my boyfriend put these up! But some of the ones you have shown are pretty chic.
Oh yeah. Those are pretty bad. I think these are more what an interior designer would use for a room, not a frat boy.
I just began to notice all the cute stickers and murals that are available since I started to decorate the baby’s room. It’s really amazing! I’d love a mural, but can’t paint so I’m glad that wallpaper is not my only option.
Once I get a home or an apartment of my own, I’ll try it out and let you know
They look neat!!!!

Why the reverse discrimination…We men cant hang NASCAR stickers up but are forced to look at shapes and colors that we really don’t like. Are men resolved to the fact that we have absolutely no say on the styles and content displayed on the walls of the houses that we pay for?
I thiknk your post was not only offensice but also sexist!
