On A Spending Fast …

piggy_bank.jpg

I screwed up. Over the past two weeks I got my hair done (highlights that look super cute) and I paid my bill to get my wisdom teeth pulled (tomorrow ugh). But I didn’t exactly budget well so I sort of ran out of money until payday… the 15th! Not good.

So I have decided to do an experiment and try not to spend any money until the 14th. I always read on frugality blogs about people who stopped buying for a period of time to save money and I think I can do this. How hard could it be? The only exceptions will be medications (for numbing my oral surgery).

I will also not spend on food if I can help it. I had enough meals planned and groceries bought to last me and my boyfriend til next week, plus this will be an opportunity to clean out the cupboard.

Boyfriend and I had planned to eat Chinese take-out on Valentines Day (a sort of tradition of ours) so that is why I stopped the buying until then. But his card is going to have to be hand made this year. I know I need deodorant but I have a travel size one that can hold me over til the 14th. Other than that I see no problems with it. I am going to be laid up this weekend recuperating so this should be a piece of cake!

Wish me luck!

Yuck! Wisdom teeth! Just to warn you, it took mine about a month to completely close… so maybe you’ll save money on food since you’ll be afraid of it getting stuck - I know, it’s really gross.

I had mine done about a week before my birthday… not good timing - I couldn’t blow out the candles on my cake!!
